If you want something done right, do it yourself. That’s a belief that celebrity makeup artist Lauren Napier took to heart when she decided to create her own line of facial wipes called CLEANSE by Lauren Napier. Dissatisfied and frustrated with the lack of high quality, effective wipes available (which is ironic, given that many brands claim that theirs can replace conventional cleansers and “do it all”), she took matters into her own hands.
Rich in wholesome ingredients like water, aloe, chamomilla and cucumber — and individually wrapped(!) in sleek black — each towelette is also textured to negate the need for pressing, tugging and rubbing. Given her own sensitive skin, Lauren ensured that her namesake product would be hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested and even safe for those who wear contact lenses to use.
But our favourite facts about these wipes? They are made using sustainable technology and renewable solar energies. They are also 100 per cent free of hazardous microbeads. “There is beauty in taking it off”, says Lauren.
That’s natural beauty.

“While skin conditions and complexions are vast, all skin has basic needs: to be clean, hydrated and nourished.”
Describe the gentlest and most effective way of using CLEANSE by LAUREN NAPIER wipes.
The wipes are gentle by design. The cotton is gentle and stretchable, designed to move with the skin and not [by] dragging or tugging delicate skin.
Start by stretching the fabric. Begin with a corner, remove eye makeup, then move throughout the forehead, cheeks, chin and décolletage. Skin is left clean and invigorated with no oily residue.
How can your customers be assured that the ingredients used are of the highest quality, and why is it important to use ingredients of this grade?
I have very sensitive skin. It was important to me that the ingredients would be something that I would use on my own skin. The ingredients were sourced and developed at the highest standards.
Each wipe is individually packaged for convenience and cleanliness
With so many skin types, how did you decide on the final ingredients?
I worked tirelessly with my team to cultivate the perfect formula. While skin conditions and complexions are vast, all skin has basic needs: to be clean, hydrated and nourished. CLEANSE by LAUREN NAPIER’s formula meets the needs of a myriad of skin types.
What is your response to those who say that wipes actually cause skin issues like acne, wrinkles and allergic reactions?
Not all cleansing wipes are created equal. CLEANSE by LAUREN NAPIER’s cotton cloth is gentle and woven to lift makeup, impurities and pollution from the skin’s surface. Our formula is developed with ingredients to combat bacteria that causes acne, hydrate skin, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Water and pure extracts have been sourced to ensure the skin is clean, hydrated and left soothed and refreshed.

Let’s talk about micellar water. Are you for or against it?
I believe in it. Micellar water is ideal for skin and ideal for very dry and sensitive skin conditions. It is pure and clean, and quite sophisticated in process. I use it along with my CLEANSE by LAUREN NAPIER wipes and my hydrating treatment — the Natura Bissé Diamond Extreme Mask. It’s a great at-home mask to perk up tired and dehydrated skin.
We understand that your wipes are manufactured using solar energy. Can you tell us more?
It was important to me [for the brand] to have eco-friendly qualities. I also wanted to reduce the brand’s carbon footprint. Our manufacturing facility is green and certified by the Environmental Protection Agency. Solar energy [powers] the space.

Tell us about your decision to only stock with female-owned stores around the world.
When women are successful and thrive, communities thrive. I am a woman in an industry dominated by men. Men are in finance; men are executives; men are in the packaging industries, and men often run the shipping and warehousing facilities. So I choose to partner with women-owned businesses when I have the opportunity.

What are your thoughts about the beauty industry becoming more eco-conscious, and more brands using healthy, natural ingredients?
It’s so important to reduce waste and improve production. We have one Earth, one life source, so we have to protect it. To me, this is a no brainer!
What’s next for the Lauren Napier brand?
I am very excited to announce that 2017 will bring new skincare products targeted at specific skincare needs.
