The tireless search for the ultimate daily multivitamin for women is now ready to order — and it’s the most attractive looking one we’ve ever seen.
Meet Katerina Markov Schneider, the founder of Ritual
The Essential for Women pill has an unusual beadlet-in-oil form
After getting pregnant, Katerina Schneider turned her house upside down and inspected all of her products — from her cleaning supplies to her deodorant — on a mission to try and eliminate as many harmful chemicals and questionable ingredients from what she reached for everyday.
It was during this decisive quest for a clean pre-natal vitamin when she discovered that many common mainstream brands were (to her horror) laced or made with harmful colourants; hidden or misleading ingredients, and marked with unproven dosages.
So, what did she do? She decided to make her own essential multivitamin, calling it out for what it is: Essential for Women.
Made up of nine key vitamins that women statistically don’t consume enough of — vitamins B12, D3, K2 MK7, E, as well as folate, omega-3 fatty acids, boron, iron and magnesium — the pill is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. In a ground-breaking beadlet-in-oil form, it “keeps oily nutrients like omega-3s and three other vitamins in their most absorbable forms and away from dry ingredients that might interact with them.”
Seeing as traditional multivitamins had not been re-designed in over half a century, Katerina wanted to eliminate the “less is more” approach. Instead, she gathered an in-house team of scientists to comb the most current clinical findings to develop a one-for-all product with the cleanest, most effective ingredients.
With so many consumers unaware of what exactly is inside the vitamins they swallow everyday, Ritual prides itself on showing customers exactly where their ingredients come from. And quite literally, as the pill itself is see-through.
Surprised at Katerina’s audacity? Maybe not. She is, after all, an honouree from the 2014 Forbes 30 Under 30: Venture Capital list. Essentially (pun intended), Katerina has the Midas touch on what works, and what doesn’t.
And she’s somewhat of a superwoman IRL. Living in Los Angeles with her husband, Michael (also an entrepreneur), and daughter, Tali; Katerina serves as a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum. Previously a Venture Partner at AF Square, she managed a portfolio of more than 70 tech investments from Spotify, to Uber and Dropbox.
What Katerina did when she founded was Ritual combine her background in business, technology and innovation, with a lifelong passion for health and wellness. What she’s doing with Ritual today is sourcing the finest essential ingredients directly from suppliers; putting it in a pill, and shipping it straight to one’s hands in a direct-to-consumer business model.
We say: if this tablet is good enough for a badass superwoman like Katerina, it’s good enough for us.
